Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Barasho (“the app”) is a Somali phrasebook published by Barasho, contactable at barasho@ablecore.com.au. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version. There is no account and no sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or location. There are no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking. The only personal data involved is an anonymous record of your in-app purchase, which exists so the unlock can be restored to your devices.

What we collect

DataWhyWho handles it
Purchase historyTo know whether you have bought the one-time unlock, and to restore it on your other devices.RevenueCat, Inc. and the App Store / Google Play

That is the complete list. The purchase record is tied to an anonymous identifier generated on your device (it looks like $RCAnonymousID:…) and is not linked to your name, email address or any account, because the app has no accounts.

What we do not collect

What stays on your device

Your favourites, your progress, your quiz history, your card-direction preference and any audio you download for offline use are all stored locally on your device. None of it is uploaded, backed up to us, or visible to us. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Content delivery

The phrases, translations and audio recordings are fetched from our content server, hosted by Supabase. These are read-only requests for content — the app sends no personal data with them. As with any internet request, the server processes the connection’s IP address in order to respond; this is not stored by us or used to identify anyone.

Payments

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see, receive or store your card details, billing address or any payment credentials. RevenueCat, Inc. acts as our processor for validating the purchase and managing the unlock across your devices. Data is encrypted in transit.

RevenueCat’s own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Children

Barasho is intended for users aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children, contains no ads, and collects no personal information that could identify a child.

Your rights and how to delete your data

You can ask us to delete the anonymous purchase record we hold. Email barasho@ablecore.com.au and we will action it within 30 days. Full instructions are on the delete my data page.

Deleting that record does not cancel your purchase — the purchase itself is held by Apple or Google against your store account, and only they can refund or remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, note it in the app’s release notes.
